Even though this information is viewable from within the MacAddict Tour interface, we've been getting tons of letters asking us "Who's the band?". So here's all the info, plain and simple, for the artists you'll find in this month's Tour. If you like their music, drop these guys a line, or better yet, buy their CD's.
• Track 1: A Modest Proposal
Performed by din
Written by Graham Irwin, taken from the album, "Greatest Hits Volume One".
After perfroming with, quitting, and being kicked out of a multitude of bands in the Los Angeles area, singer/guitarist Graham Irwin put together din, a melodic rock band with pop sensibilties, in late 1997. After an invite to the famed South-by-Southwest music festival in Texas and the subsequent crunch to put together a slicker demo before the show blew apart the band, Irwin decided to continue the project as a solo effort. He later met drummer Shane Bishop and bassist Andrew Martin at different respective day jobs and din was reborn. Mac addicts will appreciate knowing that Irwin recorded this song, the entire CD, and built the din Web site on his Power Mac 6100 (his recording software of choice—Macromedia/BIAS's Deck II). • Track 2: Slap Happy
• Track 3: Chest Pains
• Track 4: Song Number 4
Performed by Digital Droo
All songs written by A. Tokuda, taken from the upcoming album TBA.
Is it out yet? If Droo keeps his game plan in check, his long-awaited CD should be out just about now. We (once again) managed to get one more new tune out of him before he stops talking to us completely. Ever the quintessential Mac addict, every Digital Droo song is composed and recorded on a Mac. After cutting off two feet of his hair and hanging up his guitar, Droo became the master in his own musical universe powered by a Mac. To find out more about Droo, the history of Droo, the world according to Droo, to hear his latest collection of sound bites and music, or to get his new CD, visit the Digital Droo web site at: http://www.digitaldroo.com -or- drop him a note at <droo@digitaldroo.com>.
